American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics
The American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC) is the national certifying and accrediting body for the orthotic and prosthetic profession. ABC's mission is to encourage and promote the highest standards of professionalism in the delivery of orthotic and prosthetic services. Through the individual certification programs and facility accreditation, ABC advances the competency of practitioners, promotes the quality and effectiveness of orthotic and prosthetic care, and maintains the integrity of the profession.

The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is a national nonprofit organization with the mission of reaching out to people with limb loss and empowering them through education, support and advocacy. It maintains the National Limb Loss Information Center, the nation's most comprehensive source of information for people living with limb differences.

American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association
The American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) works to influence policies affecting the O&P profession through government relations efforts. AOPA staff provides expert guidance on coding, compliance and reimbursement issues. AOPA also publishes the O&P Almanac, a monthly magazine with the latest O&P news and a circulation over 15,000. A not-for-profit trade association, AOPA membership includes over 1,900 O&P patient care facilities and suppliers.

ITEM Coalition
The ITEM Coalition was formed in 2003, and its 74 member organizations include a diverse set of disability groups, aging organizations, consumer groups, labor organizations, voluntary health associations, and non-profit provider associations. The ITEM Coalition's purpose is to raise awareness and build support for policies that improve coverage of assistive devices, technologies and related services for people with disabilities of all ages

National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education
The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) is the accreditation body for the orthotics and prosthetics profession. As such, its primary mission and obligation is to ensure educational and residency programs meet the minimum standards of quality to prepare individuals to enter the orthotics and prosthetics profession. A key to the O&P accreditation system is ensuring that education remains fundamentally sound, responsible, responsive and effective. This in turn provides for public confidence in the integrity and quality of O&P education and residency programs.

Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistance Fund
The Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistance Fund (OPAF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enabling individuals with physical disabilities - especially those served by members of the orthotics and prosthetics community - to enjoy the rewards of personal achievement, physical fitness, and social interaction. OPAF achieves these goals by demonstrating the benefits that individuals with physical challenges receive from physical activity through their First clinics, which include First Volley, First Swim, and First Swing.
